Unai has given us more freedom

UNAI EMERY has given Arsenal a blend of discipline and freedom, according to Shkodran Mustafi.

Emery’s Gunners revolution is well on track with his side on a 14-game unbeaten run.

And defender Mustafi praised the manager for the qualities he has added.

“The biggest thing is that he really knows what he wants from each player,” said Mustafi.

“He tells you exactly what he wants you to do, but gives you freedom to express your talent. When we don’t have the ball, he tells you where to stand and how to get it back; when we have it, he gives you options. You can decide what options you choose. “It’s a good mix between freedom and discipline, and having the same plan in the whole team. “That’s what we saw against Liverpool. That was the first game where I felt like we came out the first minute and everywhere until the from were 90th minute. There’s a good mix now.”

As encouraging as the draw with Liverpool was, Emery said ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon: “We played well against Liverpool, a team who with Manchester City are the best in England, but a draw is not enough.

“We need more and can continue to improve to be close to those teams.”

Arsenal can clinch top spot in Group E with two games to spare if they beat their Portuguese visitors, who sacked coach Jose Peseiro last week.
