BBC steering clear of Navy veterans was a bad move

-

I WATCHED the whole of the Armistice Day service and parade on the BBC and the very moving stories from families. It was also nice to see the People’s Parade.

However the one thing I did not see was a representation of the Merchant Navy.

As a Second World War veteran of the Merchant Navy, I am disgusted the 32,000 seamen that died to keep this country safe did not get the recognition they deserved.

The excuse for the veterans not marching last year was they were too old to stand waiting. They should have been right behind the Army, Navy and Air Force veterans. Arthur Bailey,
