Andrew’s ex Koo issues threat over TV portrayal
A FORMER girlfriend of Prince Andrew said to be ruled out as a royal bride because of her racy past has threatened The Crown makers with legal action over her portrayal.
Koo Stark, 62, pictured, dated Andrew in the early 1980s but their relationship ended after news emerged that she had appeared in the erotic film Emily before meeting the prince.
She is worried about how she will be shown in the hit Netflix drama which is shooting its third series about royal life, including Princess Margaret’s affair with Roddy Llewellyn which led to her divorce from the Earl of Snowdon in the 1970s.
A fourth series would cover the time of Ms Stark’s romance with the Duke of York before he married Sarah Ferguson. American Ms Stark has instructed lawyers to issue the programme makers with a warning. A source said: “Koo has spent years trying to rebuild her life after going out with Andrew. She has no wish for all of that to be dragged up again. “She is a photographer and has moved on with her life. The last thing she wants is an inaccurate picture of her being painted. She tried to contact the people making The Crown. All she wanted was an assurance that she would be consulted to make sure any historical inaccuracies were eradicated, but she didn’t get a response.” Ms Stark dated Andrew for two years, during which time he was a Royal Navy helicopter pilot.
