Seamus tired of Red faces

SEAMUS COLEMAN was not shy in offering his view that Everton’s record against neighbours Liverpool is “embarrassing”.

The Toffees defender hopes they change that when they go to Anfield on Sunday.

But he insists there can be no excuses if their horror run against their rivals continues.

Marco Silva’s side have won five of their past seven Premier League games following this narrow victory over Cardiff thanks to Gylfi Sigurdsson’s second-half strike.

But they have not beaten Liverpool since Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill scored in Coleman’s first Merseyside derby in October 2010. “It is quite embarrassing that is the last time we beat them,” said the Everton full-back.

“Look, I don’t want to say the same old things I have said before every derby and then we don’t turn up.

all the headlines and then the fans go we have heard that before.

“Honestly, we are full of confidence. We won’t change the way we play, like maybe we have in the past – it won’t be a case of going there for a draw.”

Silva agreed as he dismissed any chance they will fear facing Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are unbeaten in the Premier League.

“I can tell you fear is not one word in our dressing room,” he said.

Sigurdsson may have scored the goal, his seventh of the season, but it was the display of Andre Gomes that really stood out as Silva hinted he will be keen to land the on-loan Barcelona midfielder on a permanent deal in the summer.

“In the right moment we have to do something to secure one player like Andre,” he said.
