Grealish in tearful tribute

- Mike Walters

NICO HULKENBERG was lucky to walk away unharmed after a dramatic crash at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix yesterday. The German’s car flipped after a collision and landed upside down, leaving him trapped as flames briefly billowed out. JACK GREALISH dedicated the “favourite moment” of his career to his brother Keelan, who died as a baby, after his goal helped Aston Villa beat Birmingham 4-2.

England Under-21 midfielder Grealish headed Villa 2-1 in front in yesterday’s pulsating Championship derby.

And he celebrated scoring against his team’s arch-rivals with a poignant tribute to Keelan, who fell victim to cot death at the age of nine months in April 2000 when Jack was four years old.

“I had tears in my eyes. I was crying because all my family were here and it’s a moment I dreamed of as a fan,” said Grealish.

“I got emotional after scoring because of my little brother who passed away. I dedicated the goal to him.

“Ever since I was a little kid at school, these were the games I dreamed of playing in, but to score brings it to another level and it is probably the favourite moment of my career so far.”

Villa’s win was sealed by a wonderful solo goal by veteran full-back Alan Hutton.

Grealish said: “I know how much it means to Hutts.

“He’s a great player and he’s been a great servant to this club.”
