No laughing matter, raps Emery

ARSENAL players who were filmed appearing to pass out under the influence of nitrous oxide in a pre-season party have been reminded of their responsibi­lities to the club by manager Unai Emery.

Alexandre Lacazette, right, Matteo Guendouzi, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sead Kolasinac were all caught inhaling the chemical known as laughing gas during a team-bonding session in London back in August.

After images appeared on the front page of a national newspaper, each player has been warned about their future behaviour but escaped any sort of disciplina­ry fine after speaking with Emery at the club’s London Colney training ground ahead of today’s home game against Huddersfie­ld.

Senior officials at the club, including director of football Raul Sanllehi supported the action, but Emery is keen to take direct responsibi­lity for the behaviour of the players. By reputation, he is a strict disciplina­rian who even banned fruit juice at the start of the season because he was worried about his players’ sugar intake.
