MY Hero of Happiness this week is Nadiya Jamir Hussain, winner of The Great British Bake Off in 2015 and currently featuring in BBC’s Asian Odyssey where she traces her family’s culinary heritage. She has genuine warmth and charm and an engaging style. She wears her heart on her sleeve and her curiosity and good cheer on her lovely face.

Even when trying a dish of crickets she managed to do so with good grace while maintaining a positive smile.

FEELING overwhelmed? Practise the art of saying “no”. Manage your diary carefully, don’t over-commit. If you have to attend a lot of events let the host know you will stay for only an hour – and remember, buffets, cocktails and canapés are a treat, not an obligation.
