And he was clearly putting the recent break-in at his £10million home in St John’s Wood firmly behind him.
Despite the drama The Beatles legend, 76, appeared in good spirits giving an “OK” sign as he arrived at The Rolling Stones frontman’s Chelsea townhouse on Thursday evening.
Dressed for the freezing temperatures in a warm coat designed by his daughter Stella’s fashion label, Macca attended the party with 59-year-old wife Nancy Shevell.
Swanky
They joined some of the most famous names in music for the swanky do including Sir Mick’s fellow band member Ronnie Wood, 71, and his wife Sally Humphreys.

The previous evening Sir Paul played a concert in Vienna.
A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed police were called to a property but the thieves had already fled.
The spokesman said: “We attended and identified signs of forced entry.” No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, they added.
Recalling the incident in the upmarket neighbourhood, a local said: “There were blue flashing lights and police everywhere – four or five cars. All the lights were on in the house. The police were all over it.”
It is not known if Sir Paul and his wife were at home at the time of the burglary which happened a few days before his historic homecoming gig in Liverpool.
The veteran star performed 38 songs as part of the UK leg of his Freshen Up tour on Wednesday.
The security scare came the day before the 38th anniversary of John Lennon’s murder in New York aged 40.
