Warm feeling for Jackett

- HOME AWAY

PORTSMOUTH manager Kenny Jackett praised his side’s ruthlessness after their 3-1 win over 10-man Sunderland.

A Gareth Evans penalty coupled with goals from Ronan Curtis and Ben Thompson ensured leaders Pompey came out on top at Fratton Park against their third-place rivals.

Luke O’Nien replied for the Black Cats, who had Glenn Loovens sent off early in the second half. “I’m pleased we capitalised on the fact it was 11 v 10,” said Jackett. “It’s very easy to get nervous and edgy. We didn’t sit back, we kept going for more.”

Joey Barton branded referee Brett Huxtable and his fellow officials as the worst he has seen in his career following Fleetwood’s 2-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers.

The Cod Army boss, who was sent off along with striker Ched Evans, said: “Today’s officiating team were as bad as any I have come across in the game, including junior football. Brett needs to have a serious look at his decision-making process.” 1 Liverpool 2 Man City 3 Tottenham 4 Chelsea 5 Arsenal
