MAURICIO POCHETTINO showed he can serve up the swashbuckl­ing football that Manchester United crave.

The Tottenham manager is tipped to make a summer switch to Old Trafford and a day after United caretaker-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer oversaw a five-goal blast at Cardiff, Pochettino’s Spurs went one better with a 6-2 romp at Everton.

Braces from Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane helped move Spurs within two points of second-placed Manchester City, with leaders Liverpool another four points clear. Pochettino, who condemned a Jordan Pickford lunge on Dele Alli, insists those two are still the main title contenders but admitted if his side repeat this performanc­e often they could be in the mix come April.

Pochettino was angered by Pickford’s high challenge on Alli late in the first half when the Spurs attacker was already offside.

Former England striker Alan Shearer condemned the challenge on social media. “Disgusting challenge by Pickford on Alli. Should have been a red card. Pickford lucky Dele didn’t react,” he tweeted.

Pochettino said: “I didn’t see. I am very curious to see the action, I think it wasn’t a great action.
