When from his cottage Rupert goes, He’s in good time for school, he knows.

“My, it’s cold this morning!” thinks Rupert as he prepares to get off for school. Mrs Bear tells him to wrap up well. “The wind’s in a bad quarter and I think we’re going to have snow before long,” she says. “Then I’ll start promptly and have a bit of a run over the common before I get there,” Rupert decides. “That should warm me up.” And off he trots. “Why, there’s Bill Badger! And the two Foxes are on ahead!” he exclaims. “I thought I was going to be the only one out here so early.”
