KAMARA ARRESTED
Police detain striker on suspicion of ABH after training-ground bust-up
FULHAM striker Aboubakar Kamara has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and criminal damage after a fight at the club’s training ground.
Police were called to their Motspur Park base on Monday after reports of an altercation between the Frenchman and a club security staff member.
Kamara has now been banned from the training ground by manager Claudio Ranieri, who had
already frozen him out for being a disruptive influence after several recent incidents, but the player arrived on Monday apparently intent on talks with chief executive Alistair Mackintosh about his future – only to end up being arrested.
A police statement said: “Police were called to a training ground to reports of a fight. One man, in his twenties, was arrested on suspicion of ABH and criminal damage. Inquiries continue.”
A Fulham statement read: ‘‘The subject who was arrested is banned indefinitely from the training ground and all club activities. We will fully co-operate with any new or continuing investigation or legal proceeding in the name of providing everyone a secure and safe working environment.” It is the latest bust-up involving the 23-year-old in recent weeks. He enraged Ranieri, left, in December’s 1-0 win against Huddersfield when he took the ball off regular penalty-taker Aleksandar Mitrovic and missed the spot-kick. Kamara was then allegedly involved in a dispute with Mitrovic in a team yoga session. Ranieri has since banned Kamara from training and he may be sold to Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor.
