The wonders of work…

WE ARE constantly reminded Britain is an ageing society, a fact usually attached to dreary stories about the perils of infirmity and the dereliction of social care. So perhaps we should applaud new figures that show the number of people in work over 65 has doubled in 20 years to around 1.2 million. It’s due to various factors: greater longevity, more flexible working patterns, the desire to be more active and, frankly, a dollop of financial needs-must.

But to stave off the golf and watercolours for a few more years won’t harm and might even help us age well.
