A princess with the power to produce ice, frost and snow at will loses control of her abilities and plunges the kingdom of Arendelle into a perpetual winter.

She goes into hiding, but her sister remains determined that she can be saved from her dangerous magic and sets off on a quest to find her, aided by a rugged mountain man and a naive living snowman.
