Bolton in flux
BOLTON Wanderers will be the subject of a hearing in the High Court on March 20 as the club faces a winding-up petition issued by HM Revenue and Customs.
Chairman Ken Anderson, below, is looking to sell the club and claims discussions are ongoing with “several” consortia.
In a statement on Bolton’s website, he told fans: “I have always endeavoured to do my best and to be open and transparent with you, the supporters, and as I have said, when there is something to say you will be first to know. As far as I am aware the comments about a Turkish buyer are pure fiction, and to the best of my knowledge are yet more speculation that seems to have been generated by the media. There have also been various other postings about a north-west consortium backed by Russian money. This is pure fiction.
“There is a consortium with which heads of terms were agreed and discussions are ongoing.
“There has been further interest from several other consortiums.”
WATFORD boss Javi Gracia says his side can and must do better to secure European football. Watford are seventh in the league and in the FA Cup last eight. But Gracia, left, said: “I like to be more demanding because we can do better. “Results are good, but it is the moment to be demanding if we want to keep our level until the end of the season.”
