‘FLY HIGH PRETTY ANGEL’...TRIBUTES TO 15-YEAR-OLD KILLED BY CAR

A MAN has been arrested following the death of a teenager hit by a car while crossing the road.

Robyn Fryar, 15, was with four friends when she was struck by a VW Polo in Paisley, Renfrewshi­re, at 2am yesterday.

She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where she later died.

Police confirmed a 20-year-old man had been arrested. Robyn’s friends were quick to pay tribute to her on social media.

Emma-Louise McGoldrick wrote on Facebook: “Can’t believe it, to stop at the scene of an accident. Both remain in custody.

The crash happened on the northbound carriagewa­y between junction eight and the Bolton West/ Rivington services. Superinten­dent what a heart of gold this little angel had every time I spoke to her. Fly high pretty angel.”

Amy Pursley said: “Rest in peace Robyn. Always a happy go lucky girlie and you’ll always be remembered!!”

Alanna Speirs posted Facebook: “You were loved by everyone.”

Pal Abby Stables said: “Never did I think I would be saying this this soon but rest easy gorgeous.

“I love you and I still can’t believe it. I’ve known you since nursery. I love you.”

“There are no words to describe what they will be going through and we send them our deepest condofaili­ng including parts of its headlights, could be seen scattered in the road where the teenager was struck.

Detective Inspector Allan Kelly of Paisley CID urged anyone with informatio­n relating to the accident to come forward and contact police.

A police spokesman added: “We have arrested a 20-year-old man following a road crash in Paisley in which a teenage girl died. Her family are aware and are being supported by police. Enquiries into the incident are continuing.”
