EastBlenders! Ian Beale ups his game for MasterChef crunch

WITH his fish and chip shop in EastEnders, Ian Beale is not exactly a gourmet chef – but the actor who plays him is going upmarket.
AdamWoodyatt is one of the big names of this year’s Celebrity MasterChef line-up, competing against the likes of reality starVicky Pattison, fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes and Strictly professional Oti Mabuse.
MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace will be putting them under pressure in the kitchen alongside Olympic gold athlete Greg Rutherford,American Motown star Martha Reeves and retired footballer Neil “Razor” Ruddock.
In all, 20 celebrities will take part in challenges across the six-week series, including invention tests – in which two stars join forces to cook an identical dish without seeing each other.
Other tasks will see them whip up dishes for past champions, restaurant critics, and face the hungry hordes at venues such as ZSL London Zoo, and London’s Metropolitan Police training centre.
They will be competing to become Celebrity MasterChef Champion 2019, following in the footsteps of winners including Ade Edmondson and Angellica Bell and Kimberly Wyatt.
BBC commissioning Editor Carla-Maria Lawson said: “Once again we have a brilliant variety of different characters and there will be some surprises along the way.”
The rest are: boxing promotor Kellie Maloney, former Towie star Joey Essex, Gogglebox’s Dom Parker, Love Island’s Dr Alex George, boxer Dillian Whyte, weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker,The Chase’s Jenny Ryan, DJ Judge Jules, comic Josie Long, Radio 1’s Rickie HaywoodWilliams, ex-Marine Andy Grant, actors Elizabeth Bourgine and Mim Shaikh.
