VOTERS AGREE ON ONE THING ...NO MORE DELAYS

-

VOTERS have lost their appetite for compromise and either want to cancel Brexit or press forward with no-deal, a poll revealed yesterday.

People are fed-up with the ongoing delay and just want to get on with it one way or another, the survey suggests.

Almost half want the UK to walk away from Brussels on the crunch Halloween deadline of October 31 without a deal in place.

But a similar number want to revoke the Article 50 exit process and stay within the European Union trade block.

Analysis of four clusters of swing seats shows a majority in favour of a no-deal Brexit in the North-west and East Midlands.

By contrast, Scotland and London both have majority support for revoking Article 50 and remaining in the EU.

Support for a further delay to Brexit did not pass nine per cent in any of the four areas in the survey of more than 3,000 people.

In February, almost half of voters backed a short delay to Brexit with support dropping off dramatically as the suggested length of the postponement increased.

The results of the poll, coordinated by Hanbury for the website Politico, shows similarities with how the regions voted in the 2016 referendum.

The North-west and East Midlands voted to Leave 54-46 and 59-41 respectively, while London and Scotland backed Remain by 60-40 and 62-38 respectively.
