Dementia patient, 88 attacked by nurse

- By News Reporter By Jamie Smith

A NURSE has been struck off after he attacked a dementia patient by grabbing her and dragging her across the floor.

Steven Campbell, 50, had shown little remorse for “seizing” Jessie Colquhoun, 88, by the ankles and “forcibly” pulling her across the floor, a Nursing and Midwifery Council hearing found.

A family visiting a relative raised the alarm when they saw Campbell dragging the patient about “a metre and a half”(five foot) along a corridor. WELA the gorilla loves to boogie – and she showed off her latest moves to impress her dad.

Although the adorable two-year-old was clearly up for a dance, stepping out and raising an arm in the air disco-style, silverback Viatu did not quite seem to share her enthusiasm.

The pair were caught on camera by travel agent Sigrid Nobel, 48, of Frankfurt, Germany during a visit to the city’s zoo.

He said: “I really have a passion for gorillas and great apes so I love to make pictures of them and watch them.

“Wela was posing in front of her dad and trying to get his attention.”

Hopefully it won’t be the last time Wela is spotted monkeying around.
