PICKS OF THE DAY
Drama: Keeping Faith, BBC1, 9pm
Now is probably a good time to cast our minds back to August and the last time we were in the fictitious town of Abercorran. After dealing with the turmoil of her husband’s unexplained disappearance, Faith (Eve Myles, left) was stunned when he walked in on her kissing Steve. Fast forward 18 months and that is where we pick things up tonight. Faith is battling to keep her family together and business afloat but finds herself drawn into a new mystery – taking on the case of Madlen Vaughan, a local farmer accused of murdering her husband in cold blood. She is determined to help, but out of her depth. This will keep us entertained on a Tuesday night for the next six weeks.
Transport: Yorkshire Airport, ITV, 8.30pm
We really enjoyed the first episode of this quirky little fly-on-the-wall documentary based at Leeds-Bradford Airport last week. Tonight, airline auditors pay a surprise visit, which leaves baggage boys Jimmy (left) and Michael in fear for their jobs when they manage to lose a piece of luggage. As millions of us will know, that seems an easy thing to do! Duty manager Nathan has to deal with a flood in the toilets which happens to be next to an executive departure lounge.
Drama: Ackley Bridge, C4, 8pm
By the time we have taken in an hour of classroom drama and the same again with Keeping Faith we will be ready for a lie down. Rukhsana gets revenge on her brother but it does her little good when he walks out on her, leaving her to face a visit from the debt collectors alone. The family crisis presents Kaneez with her first real challenge as student support officer. Sam Retford and Ty Glaser (both above) star.
Soap: Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm & 8pm
Tonight in the Yorkshire Dales Cain is eager to prove himself to Moira, Billy gives Dawn food for thought and Jai fears he has been rumbled. Meanwhile Amy reveals her next move to Cain, and Rishi (Bhasker Patel) meets Kim (Claire King, above with Patel) to ask for a loan. Newcomer Nate is given food for thought as he learns more details about Moira and Cain’s turbulent history which might cause a stir.
Drama: I Am Nicola, C4, 10pm
It is not Kate Fleming. It is not Kate Fleming. That is what people will have to keep telling themselves as Line Of Duty star Vicky McClure leads the way in this three-part female-led drama anthology series. The brilliant McClure (right) stars a hairdresser dissatisfied with her life and envious of her customer’s exciting new experiences. Her partner views her desire for a change as a personal attack, sending their relationship into a spiral of arguments, guilt and reconciliation.
