Now I’m ready to be a mum, vows Sheridan

- By Mark Jefferies

SHERIDAN Smith has revealed that she is preparing to start a family.

The 38-year-old previously talked of her doubts about becoming a mum.

But she has been inspired by child actors who joined her on stage show Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The actress and singer, who is engaged to Jamie Horn, said: “I can’t tell you how much I love the kids. I am going to miss them so much. They are all an utter joy and have made the whole experience for me.

“I will cherish the memories and watch their careers flourish.

“Me and Jamie now are thinking of making me a mamma. All thanks to these amazing souls.”

Smith admitted she was feeling broody as she celebrated the end of her run alongside Jason Donovan which finishes at the London Palladium this weekend. The star of Cilla, The Royle Family and Gavin And Stacey has received rave reviews for her role as the narrator.

Earlier this year Smith spoke about enjoying living on a farm with Jamie, 28.

In March she said: “I just never pictured myself as a wife and mother, but Jamie is making me so happy that we’re able to have these conversations about our future.” But in June it seemed as though the actress had had a change of heart, doubting whether she was really ready to have children.

She said: “Am I actually ready? Could I cope? I have to ask myself serious questions like this.

“My mum tells me she knows I could. She watched me with my dad in the last few days of his life and told me if I could be that caring I would be a perfect mother. But I don’t know. I just know I’m not perfect.”
