Hollywood’s ex hits back at ‘story-selling’ claims

- By Paul Jeeves

THE ex-girlfriend of Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood has hit back at claims she is trying to make cash by “selling stories”.

Summer Monteys-Fullam, 24, moved in with the 53-year-old TV chef after they met in 2017.

But their budding romance ended in July when Paul requested the former barmaid sign a non-disclosure agreement, which would have prevented her talking about their relationship with friends and family.

Paul claimed that Summer had been “making money selling stories and continuously courting” publicity on social media. But following reports that she was planning to take him to court over the allegations, Summer yesterday spoke out to “personally clarify” her position.

In a statement, she said: “I have never wanted to attend court to seek financial gain from Paul Hollywood or anyone else, for that matter.

“I have never sold a story on my personal life for financial gain or otherwise. I have never courted the paparazzi in exchange for publicity, financial gain or otherwise. All I am trying to do is seize opportunities that have been presented to me as any young woman would.

“I would never intentionally do anything to tarnish anyone’s career or name.”

The couple met when Paul arranged a birthday party for his then-wife Alex at the bar where Summer worked. They started dating months later and moved in to an £845,000 farmhouse in Kent when Paul and Alex split. Last week, it was revealed that Summer has signed with talent agency Broad International in a bid to launch an acting career. It has previously been reported that she turned down a staggering £125,000 to go on hit ITV show, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Some sources reportedly suggested she was looking for a fee closer to £400,000.

Meanwhile, on last night’s Bake Off, Amelia Le Bruin became the third baker to leave after she was unable to rise to the challenge in Bread Week.

The sportswear designer had struggled in the tasks of tear and share, baps and scored bread.

She said the whole process of leaving the tent “felt a bit like a break-up”.
