‘Lady Mary’ led down the aisle by her new love

- By Steph Spyro

DOWNTON Abbey star Michelle Dockery and new love Jasper Waller-Bridge are the picture of domestic bliss as they pay a visit to the supermarket. Dockery, 37, who is best known for playing Lady Mary Crawley in the TV period drama, was spotted with the brother of Fleabag creator Phoebe WallerBridge, inset, on Friday. A friend of the couple said: “They are really enjoying being together. “Jasper is a bit younger than Michelle, but he has dated other older women in the past and it appears to be working for both of them. “Michelle remains a very down-to-earth woman, dating an A-lister has never been her thing.” Dockery began dating Jasper, 31, three months ago. Casually dressed in baggy jeans, trainers and a long beige coat, the actress looked to be in domestic delight with her new boyfriend at a Sainsbury’s near her north London home. Jasper works for a leading talent agency with celebrity clients including Holly Willoughby and Ant and Dec.

This is reportedly Dockery’s first relationship since her fiance John Dineen died from a rare cancer in 2015, after just two years of being together.

In a touching interview in 2017, she said: “I don’t have the vocabulary to describe what it felt like, and what it still feels like. I’ve never been more committed to anything in my life than to him. “So at the time everything just shut down. Work, everything. Work didn’t matter.

“I refer to myself as a widow, yes. We were engaged, and married at heart, and so I do consider myself a widow.”

Dockery is friends with Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The two reportedly spent some time together in LA over the summer.

Waller-Bridge has won several awards for Fleabag, including a BAFTA and multiple Emmys.
