Beverley finds love again after Cracknell split
BEVERLEY Turner has spoken of her happiness at finding love with a younger man after her split from Olympic rower James Cracknell.
The 46-year-old said life is happier with eco-house developer James Pritchett, 32.
TV presenter Beverley has three children with gold medallist Cracknell, 47.They had been married 17 years when they broke up in March.
Six months later Beverley was pictured with James.
She said: “The universe has sent me a wonderful new partner via a mutual friend.
“He happens to be a domestic god 14 years my junior, who built a surprise vegetable patch in my garden when I was on holiday with the kids, created an outdoor cinema screen and replaces light bulbs on the day he notices they’re blown.
“He listens when I simply need a rant. He is as good at spinning me round on the dance floor as he is at running me a bath. He laughs at my extreme gratitude for this kindness, claiming that this is what a ‘normal relationship’ is meant to look like.”
Beverley wrote in an article for Good Housekeeping magazine that she is surprised that dating a younger man has been so easy.
She added: “The age gap is surprisingly irrelevant and has forced me to revise long-held assumptions about non-conventional pairings.
“It seems that, everywhere I look, women are with younger men: Helena Bonham Carter. Kate Moss and Sharon Stone to name a few.Women who are young at heart make perfect partners for men who can keep up with their mischief and aren’t threatened by wisdom, confidence or a matter-of-fact resilience.” Beverley said her new relationship means that she can face the future with optimism, but it was “too soon” to live together. Beverley said her ex-husband had become a different person after a near-fatal head injury in 2010. Nearly a year after their split, she said, she is “immeasurably happier”.
