Snap! Meghan ensures selfie pair get photo

- By Liz Perkins

THE Duchess of Sussex stepped in to help a couple who were struggling to take a selfie while out hiking in Canada.

Asymina Kantorowicz said she “froze” when she suddenly realised it was Meghan, 38, who was taking the snapshot of her and boyfriend Iliya Pavlovic.

The stunning result shows the two against the beautiful backdrop of Vancouver Island’s Horth Hill Regional Park on New Year’s Day.

The Duchess was out walking with Prince Harry and friends.

But it was only when Asymina noticed Meghan’s Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, 38, that she twigged who they were.

Asymina said: “I actually couldn’t believe who it was. Then I looked over to the side and that’s when I realised Prince Harry was standing there.

“I kept looking back and forth like, ‘Is this actually happening?’.”

The couple had struggled to take the perfect snap with their selfie stick. The Duchess asked if they wanted her to have a go at taking the photo.

Asymina said: “In that moment the only thing I could think to say was, ‘There’s only so much that selfie sticks can do’. She laughed and responded with something like, ‘We’ll have to do better’, and then Harry said, ‘No pressure’.”

Meghan took three pictures and they all wished each other Happy New Year as they parted ways. It is not the first time the Duchess has turned her hand to photography during the trip.

She is also believed to have taken the cute picture of Prince Harry, 35, and their son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor in woolly hats released on New Year’s Eve.

The New Zealand charity knitting group which crafted baby Archie’s hat has since been swamped with orders. The royals are on an extended break in Canada, where Meghan lived while filming TV’s Suits.
