Imperial purple reigns as royals head to church
LONG the colour of emperors and monarchs, purple was the dominant colour yesterday when the Duchesss of Cambridge and the Queen stepped out for church in Sandringham.
Kate sported a purple coat and a mauve fedora hat with an animal print band.
The mother-of-three’s outfit lined up nicely with the Queen’s plum skirt and jacket ensemble, which she wore along with a matching hat and brooch.
PrinceWilliam joined his wife for the Sunday service looking smart in a blue suit and tie.
Onlookers stood on the grass as the royal couple arrived to attend the church service.
Also at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate was the Cambridges’ friend Rose Hanbury, 35, dressed in a navy coat and brown faux fur hat, and her husband David, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley.
Traditional
After the service the Duke and Duchess headed back to London, where Charlotte, four, and George, six, will return to school after the Christmas break. Prince Louis is 20 months old.
The royals were last seen at the church for the traditional Christmas Day service when the Queen attended with her four children, their spouses and the Cambridges.
Charlotte and George were also at the morning festive church service as they accompanied their parents for the first time.
The only royals missing from the annual event were Prince Philip, who has not been seen in public since he was discharged from hospital on Christmas Eve, and Prince Harry and Meghan – who are onVancouver Island in Canada with their sevenmonth-old son,Archie, as part of a six-week break from royal duties.
