Legend Brady vows to continue quest for another Super Bowl into a 21st season

AVISIT to Manchester United and friend Paul Pogba has whetted Sonny BillWilliams’ appetite for playing in England.

The New Zealander has linked up with new club Toronto Wolfpack at their training base near Rochdale and took advantage of his move to the North-west to visit Pogba and United.

He said: “I enjoyed my time meeting players and coaching staff.

“In my short time in Manchester, I can see how passionate the fans are about football.”

Yesterday’s pre-season matches saw Salford ease to a 52-4 win over Championship club Swinton and Hull FC lose 18-10 to Halifax.

TOM BRADY saw his dream of a seventh Super Bowl shattered – and then declared he is likely to be back for a 21st season.

The New England Patriots quarterback led his team to the season finale in four of the past five seasons, winning three times.

But a 20-13 home defeat in the early hours of yesterday morning at the hands of the Tennessee Titans brought this campaign to a premature end.

Brady, who effectively played this season on a oneyear $23million contract, has a record six Super Bowl winners’ rings to his name, almost every passing record in history, and is guaranteed a place in the Hall of Fame five years after his retirement.

But having spent the entire 21st Century with one team, he wants to keep playing despite the fact he will turn 43 in August.

“I would say it’s pretty unlikely,” said Brady when asked if he is ready to retire.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen and I’m not going to predict it. No one needs to make choices at this point.

“I love playing football. I love playing for this team. I’ve loved playing for this team for two decades and winning a lot of

SSR games. I don’t know what it looks like moving forward, so we’ll just take it day by day.” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said: “Certainly Tom’s an iconic figure in this organisation and nobody respects Tom more than I do.”

The Titans’ reward is a trip to Super Bowl favourites Baltimore next weekend. In the other AFC wildcard play-off match,

Houston Texans battled back from 16-0 down to beat the Buffalo Bills 22-19 in an overtime thriller, and will now take on Kansas City next weekend.

Minnesota Vikings last night claimed a shock 26-20 win at New Orleans as they progressed in the NFC play-off race.

Will Lutz kicked a 49-yard field goal for the Saints with just seven seconds left on the clock to take the tie into overtime. But Kyle Rudolph caught the game-winning touchdown for the Vikings.
