Pedro struggling to get to grips with climate change

WATFORD will unleash their latest boy from Brazil tonight – but Joao Pedro admits he is still struggling to adapt to the English winter.

The 18-year-old joined the club earlier this month in a £10million deal from Fluminense, the same club where they unearthed Richarlison.

The Hornets will make 11 changes for their FA Cup thirdround replay at Tranmere, hoping the pitch beats the weather this time, with none of the starting XI from Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa expected to feature.

That means Pedro, an unused sub atVilla Park, will be handed his chance to shine – despite admitting he is not yet used to the vast

Vdifference in climate. Pedro, who played 45 minutes of the 3-3 draw with Rovers atVicarage Road, said: “I was pleased with my debut – my team-mates gave me confidence and made me feel at ease.

“In Brazil, the game is a lot slower – here it is faster and the space is tighter. But the only thing I need to get used to is breathing in the cold air. Coming from Rio, where it is 40 degrees, and then to come here, where it’s only four or five degrees, it’s really tough to get used to it. The freezing air dries your throat quicker.” Tranmere boss Micky Mellon has told his players to forget about Manchester United and focus on Watford. The winner will earn a crack at United on Sunday, and Mellon said: “We know the prize, for us that’s massive. “But you can’t affect who you have in the next round – something you encourage in a team is to focus on the now.”
