GREALISH ‘FLOUTED OWN ADVICE’:

-

PREMIER League footballer Jack Grealish appeared to flout the Government’s Covid-19 advice yesterday – hours after telling fans to “stay at home”.

Photos of the Aston Villa star looking dishevelled outside a luxury block of flats in Dickens Heath, Solihull, were posted on social media.

Mystery surrounds why the 24-year-old midfielder was spotted outside the complex, where former teammate Ross McCormack owns a property.

Hours before being photographed he posted a video on Twitter urging his followers to stay indoors during the coronavirus outbreak.

Grealish, who is valued at £50million and has been Villa’s best player this season, said: “To help save lives you must stay at home. Only leave your house to buy food, to buy medicine or to exercise, and always remember to stay at least two metres apart. This is urgent, protect the NHS.

Stay at home, save lives.”

The photograph was taken in Dickens Heath, 10 miles from Barnt Green, where Grealish is believed to live.

Last night an Aston Villa source said club bosses were still trying to contact their star player to get an explanation.

Birmingham-born Grealish has regularly been in the spotlight since breaking into the Villa first-team in 2014.

In 2015 he was pictured sprawled on the street in Tenerife, apparently drunk. The following year he infuriated hotel guests by holding a raucous party.

In March last year he was floored after a Birmingham fan ran on the pitch and punched him.
