Bulldog spirit: Pups are named after heroes in NHS
AN ANIMAL rescue charity has called a litter of puppies after local NHS heroes.
Bulldog Peaches gave birth to Louise, Stephi, Beverly and Michelle – honouring staff at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport. The fifth is named after TV doctor Hilary Jones.
The six-week-olds are in foster care in Cardiff after being taken to Hope Rescue in Llanharan, South Wales. The charity’s Vanessa Waddon said an NHS worker cried when told a dog had been named after her. She added: “We’ve some sad stories at the moment but it’s uplifting to do something positive and see the reaction.”
