We are Online of Duty... stars Zoom in for a chat

- By

LINE Of Duty’s actors and creator conducted themselves to the “letter of the law – the letter”, as Ted Hastings would say, as they staged a video call during lockdown.

Adrian Dunbar, 61, who plays Superintendent Hastings, and his sidekicks Vicky McClure (Kate Fleming) and Martin Compston (Steve Arnott) have put filming on hold because of the virus.

Instead they met up online, together with the BBC One drama’s writer, Jed Mercurio.

Vicky, 37, who lives in Nottingham, posted a screenshot of the Zoom conference call on her Instagram account. She wrote: “LoD in lockdown. Missing this lot x”

Martin, 36, who is usually based in Las Vegas with his American wife, also shared the snap on social media. While Jed, 54, tweeted: “Lockdown Line Of Duty AC-12 back

on screen (sort of) with Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar.”

The stars had started filming series six in February before the coronavirus pandemic meant it had to be postponed.

LoD fans gushed over the photo of the four, with TV star Davina McCall writing: “Aawwwwwwww” with six love heart emojis.

Telly and radio presenter Emma Willis also liked the post, as did hundreds of other viewers frustrated by the drama’s delay.

Lisa Quinn, quoting another famous TV Ted, wrote: “Ah mother of jaysus, what a zoom chat.”

Lucy Butler said: “We need this back in our lives.”

Francesca said: “LoD in lockdown – now there’s a show.”
