Oh Sandra. . . if looks could kill!
ACTRESS Sandra Oh is dressed to kill as she slips on a zesty orange gown for a glamorous photoshoot.
Killing Eve fans are used to seeing the star in decidedly plain clothes as MI6 agent Eve Polastri, while co-star Jodie Comer rocks a flash designer wardrobe. And as she posed as Elle Canada’s cover star, Oh joked that there was some rivalry on set over who got the most stunning clothing.
The 48-year-old said: “It kills me! I go into wardrobe and see that b***h’s clothing and I’m just like, ‘Can I get something above Uniqlo? No?’” Joking aside, she told of her “very deep connection” with Comer, who plays assassin Villanelle. As the story progresses, their characters become obsessed with each other.
And talking of her on-screen chemistry with Comer, 27, Oh said: “I have a very deep connection to her. “When we come together, there’s a deep amount of trust. We’re pushing each other. We trust that space of alchemy between us. She’s confident in her instincts, as I am in mine.” Oh and Comer were both nominated for Best Actress in a Drama at last year’s Emmys – which Comer won. But Canadian-American Oh has also had gongs for Killing Eve, last year becoming the first woman of Asian descent to win two Golden Globes. The hit BBC drama returned last month for series three and filming is under way for series four. Before Killing Eve, Oh was best known as Dr Cristina Yang in medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. She said playing a protagonist was a career choice, adding: “I decided I’m only going to play characters essential to the plot, that conduct the narrative and therefore can’t be cut out.”
