Sainsbury’s chief’s vow

SAINSBURY’S new chief executive started his first day in the job yesterday vowing to listen more to customers and improve the experience for shoppers.

Simon Roberts, who replaced Mike Coupe, has also bolstered the supermarTR­OUBLED ket and Argos owner’s operating board, promoting the group’s marketing head and increasing responsibi­lities for its digital director.

He said: “I am really looking forward to hearing directly from people about what they want from us.”
