Frankie’s primed for a Worthy run

- By The Scout (Chris Goulding)

FRANKIE DETTORI (below) can come up trumps on his first ride back after racing’s enforced break with GALSWORTHY (4.30, nap) at Kempton.

On his two outings, Galsworthy ran with promise when finishing in the frame both times.

His latest performance, third behind English King at Newcastle, reads well as the second home in that contest, Waleydd, has since won in impressive style.

Also, the John Gosden-trained colt will appreciate today’s step up in distance as his pedigree suggests he will be even better over a more demanding trip.

His stable companion, Swift Verdict, has a smart pedigree but may well need the outing.

The Queen, back in the saddle on her Fell pony Fern at Windsor on Sunday, can celebrate success with FIRST RECEIVER (3.55, nb) whom she owns and also bred.

He put in two eyecatching performances last season and is ready to open his account.

The son of New Approach, who has a

Derby entry, showed plenty of promise at Kempton on his final start when second behind First View in November.

At Newcastle, the frustrating DARK VISION (1.20, treble) can get his head back in front.

He looked destined for great things after winning a Group Two at Goodwood two years ago and changed hands for a sheikh’s ransom when bought by Godolphin. Since that victory, the four-year-old has failed to score but has run well in defeat.

Today’s contest is a considerable drop in grade and hopefully it will let him get his career back on track.

Significantly, Silvestre de Sousa is back on board for the first time since winning on him at Goodwood.

CUSTODIAN (1.55) can take advantage of his lenient mark in the Betway Casino Handicap.

The colt had his credentials enhanced after his success at Pontefract in August when beating Ainsdale who subsequently won his three final starts.
