Normality rains at last

AFTER months of glorious sunshine, the weekend’s heavy downpours might have come as a nasty shock to many. But the rain should be welcomed by all of us as much as it was surely welcomed by our drought-threatened countryside and gardens.

We all long for a return to some kind of normality. What could be more normal than a rain-drenched British summer and an excuse to chat about the weather?
