WHY IS IT THAT ONLY BLACK LIVES SEEM TO MATTER – WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHERS PERSECUTED WORLDWIDE?
THE SUPPOSEDLY anti-racist mobs who have taken over the public spaces of London chant Black Lives Matter. Actually, all lives matter but not apparently in equal proportions of importance. Across the world ethnic and religious minorities are being persecuted unto death and not a placard waved in Parliament Square. To strongly imply that only black lives matter is itself a profoundly racist statement.
In western China the Uighur Muslim minority is being ethnically cleansed as thousands are hauled off to concentration camps. Any placards in London? Nope. Not important enough. In Myanmar the minority Muslim Rohingya are slaughtered, their women raped by soldiers. Chanting in Trafalgar Square for them? Listen carefully, listen in vain. In northern Iraq the minority MuslimYazidi are butchered by fanatical Orthodox Muslims. So what. Minority Christian communities are persecuted worldwide. Even our own church is silent.
The reason is simple. Political correctness is the new state religion, with its cathedral the BBC. To grieve a single murdered Minnesotan is PC so let a rabble deface our statues ofWinston Churchill or to prevent them, board them up. I suspect there are millions of us mere taxpayers who would be grateful if our police, instead of “taking the knee” could recall their oath at enlistment and clear the rabble of Marxist/Anarchist/ Racist mobs from our public squares.
But this will not happen under our knock-kneed government that will not open schools or churches, or the warblers ruling New ScotlandYard or the mumbling mitre in Lambeth Palace. As an old codger who remembers D-Day I sometimes wonder whether our national “leaders” have a functioning testicle between the lot of ’em.
