Maybe we’re amazed! Paul’s feat at age 78
SIR Paul McCartney has a leg up on most septuagenarians as he shows off his moves on his 78th birthday.
The bendy Beatle was pictured doing “raised leg yoga” at his mansion in the Hamptons, near New York.
He has practised transcendental meditation and yoga for 50 years and recently revealed he was trying a new exercise involving “eye yoga”, said to alleviate the effects of ageing.
But his birthday on Thursday began with a stretch called “Padotthanasana”, also known as the Raised Legs Pose.
Taking his picture was daughter Mary, 50 – a professional photographer and the second eldest of Macca’s four children with his late wife Linda.
Mary posted the photo on her Instagram account and captioned it: “Dad x Love you x Mary.”
It prompted birthday greetings and best wishes from a host of celebrity pals, including actress Reese Witherspoon, 44, who wrote
“Greatest!”. Catwalk model Christy Turlington, 51, replied: “Cutest!”
Fashion designer Susie Cave said she thought Sir Paul resembled his musician son James, 42, writing: “Happy Birthday Paul! Looking so much like James here!”
Macca, who spent most of lockdown in the UK, flew to New York to be reunited with his third wife Nancy Shevell. The 60-year-old trucking company heiress, said to be worth £120million, was in the US when the outbreak took hold.
On Tuesday the couple were spotted shopping for groceries at a gourmet supermarket in the Hamptons called Citarella.
They were taking no chances with coronavirus and wore plastic gloves and face masks.
Despite an estimated combined wealth of £920million, they still carried their own bags back to the car.
