My 56 days lost to bug, by victim

A VIRUS victim who spent almost two months in intensive care said he can barely remember anything from that time.

George Clark, 61, is also learning how to eat again after being fed by a tube for so long.

The dad-of-three recalled being taken into hospital on March 21, but then woke up 56 days later with no memory of the spell.

He said: “It’s been a real blur, I remember very little. I can remember going into the ambulance to hospital.

“Then I woke up, asked what the date was and was told it was May.

“I had no idea what happened, I missed the whole of April.”

The design engineer was not released to go home in Prestwick, South Ayrshire, until June 9. He said: “All I wanted to do was see my family again.”
