HALF bottles are a great way of trying interesting wines without shelling out for a standard-size bottle. For slightly more than half the price (glass for glass they’re not always such good value), they’re a terrific way of exploring a new wine, region or grape. Plus, if you’re a moderate drinker, or live alone, and worry about waste, a 37.5cl bottle is perfect.You can open something fresh slightly more often and, if it’s not quite your taste, there’s far less to swallow.The good news is that producers increasingly see half bottles as a key market. More and more are responding to public demand this way. So enjoy my suggestions below.
