This delicious, crisp white chardonnay from the iconic Louis Jadot winery in southern Burgundy brings oodles of perfectly balanced flavour, most prominently apple and pear. Floral, fruity aromas. Available from Morrisons and Tesco.

Cune Crianza Rioja 2016 37.5cl (£6.65, 13.5%)

Another half-bottle exploding with flavour. Aromatic nose with red fruits and liquorice, balanced with flavours of American oak casks, vanilla, cocoa and caramel. Lip-smackingly good. Champagne Taittinger Prestige Rosé 37.5cl (£28.85, 12.5%) Taittinger remains one of the last great independent champagne houses, its exclusivity beyond doubt. A subtle balance of soft red fruits and crisp acidity make this an absolutely delicious, fizz-filled rosé. A great way of marking a special occasion (the end of lockdown, perhaps?) without shelling out for a full bottle. Beaujolais-Villages Combe aux Jacques 37.5cl (£4.75, 13%)

Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc 2019 37.5cl (£6.85, 13%)
