DEVOTED mum Holly Willoughby took a day off work yesterday as her three children returned to the school after three months in lockdown.

Phillip Schofield, 58, explained her absence to This Morning viewers, who tuned in to find Big Brother’s Davina McCall as his guest co-host.

He said Holly, like parents across the country, was likely to experience a day of “high emotion”. He added: “She is taking her children to school. They’re all going back and it’s a sort of staggered affair and quite complicated.”

Davina, 52, said: “She’s doing something lovely. Good mummy.”

Holly, 39, later posted on Instagram as she announced it was “back to school” for Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, five. She also shared snaps of colourful trainers two of her youngsters were sporting, with the caption: “The new norm – back to school”.

Fans were quick to approve. One wrote: “This Morning isn’t the same without you, but mum duties come first.”

Another said: “Hope all goes well. I am a teacher returning next week and can’t wait to see the children.” Holly, who is married to TV producer Dan Baldwin, 45, previously said juggling her career and being a mum is the “biggest challenge”.

She said: “Becoming a mum was the only thing I knew I definitely wanted when I was growing up, but the image never involved me being a working mum.

“I’ve been riddled with guilt about getting that part wrong.”
