Soap: EastEnders, BBC1, 7.30pm
A classic soap opera episode, broadcast owing to the break in EastEnders filming. During the course of the entire 30 minutes viewers only see two characters – Den and Angie Watts (Leslie Grantham and Anita Dobson, both above). We are transported back to 1986 tonight – as the pair’s storyline was reaching its peak. Den has demanded a divorce but Angie resorts to desperate measures to ensure he does not leave.
Food And Drink: Bake Off: The Professionals, C4, 8pm
The second set of professional bakers – from establishments like Cakes & Bubbles and The Hurlingham Club – were welcomed to the show last week and largely failed to impress with their apple tarts, rice puddings and key lime pies. For Ioan and Mareks, it was all too much and they fell at the first hurdle. If the five remaining pairs thought it was about to get easier, they were wrong. Firstly, they must produce 24 layered vegetable cake slices and tomato-shaped desserts in just three and a half hours. In the second stage, they must make baskets out of 160 choux buns. Liam Charles, Benoit Blin, Cherish Finden and Tom Allen (all left) host.
Film: Atomic Blonde, Film4, 9pm
Charlize Theron (above) morphed into MI6 operative Lorraine Broughton here for a thriller set in Germany in the late 1980s. Broughton is sent to Berlin before the fall of the wall to investigate the murder of a fellow spy and recover a missing list of double agents. The city is in a dangerously unstable state, and she finds herself targeted by multiple factions plotting to exploit the uncertain future for their own ruthless ends.
History: Ancient Invisible Cities, BBC4, 9pm
