Clean up your act, Nigella

-

WHAT is it with celebs claiming slobbishness is the optimum life-style choice?

We heard domestic goddess Nigella Lawson, below, saying that she’s “gone feral”, doesn’t change her sheets as often since lockdown began – and that when chocolate she’d been midnight-munching had melted over her duvet cover, she actively considered leaving her bed linen unlaundered.

And now we have former PM Tony Blair pitching in, announcing that he hasn’t washed his smalls, scoured a pan or cooked a meal since 1997.

I don’t get it. Is wallowing in your own mess – or paying someone else to clean up after you – some kind of badge of honour?

Most people have found lockdown sanity in scrubbing, polishing, weeding and sorting. Stuck in our homes, we want them to gleam, smell fresh and above all, be safely disinfected.
