Owners get return date

RACEHORSE owners have received the green light to attend racecourses this Saturday, including at Epsom for the Derby.

Two test fixtures will take place tomorrow at Southwell and Kempton to see how the plan would be implemented.

A maximum of two owners per horse will be allowed from this weekend but meetings will continue to take place behind closed doors, with no public attending.

Maure 0en Haggas, wife of trainer William, said: “Owners are the lifeblood of the sport and without the owners there is no racing. It’s great that they will be able to come back again, even if it is limited to start with.”
