Mourinho gunning for joker in Arsenal pack

- TONY BANKS

JOSE MOURINHO last night warned mickey-taking rivals Arsenal: “We will be waiting for you”.

The Tottenham manager was annoyed at the Gunners’ social media team poking fun at his side after their limp 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United on Thursday.

Arsenal put highlights of the Gunners’ 2-1

FA Cup win at Bramall Lane on Facebook with the message: “Here’s a reminder of how it’s done.”

The Blades defeat put a huge dent in Spurs’ hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. And Mourinho was not amused.

The Portuguese, whose side host Arsenal on Sunday, said: “No problem – at home we will be waiting for them.

“If they were top of the league or fighting for top four, they wouldn’t enjoy the problems of the others. You only enjoy the problems of others when you are also in trouble.

“I don’t believe it was Mikel Arteta who posted it – probably some guy who has been working from home for three months.”

The Spurs boss, right, whose side host

Everton tonight four points behind seventh-placed Arsenal, added: “To be the champions of North London means nothing to me. “You must have more ambition than that.

“I have been at so many different big clubs, with so many special rivals, so I don’t hide that for me Arsenal is a special rival. “So yes, I would like to finish in a better position than them. But I want my club to be bigger than that.” Mourinho, though, is still smarting at the Blades defeat – and knows Tottenham’s away form has to improve. He said: “For a couple of years, the team is showing, especially away from home, weaknesses at this level.” Spurs have won only three league games on the road this season – all of them since Mourinho arrived in November. Mauricio Pochettino’s side won 11 last term, but Mourinho said: “Away from home, you realise that the results have been really, really bad.” SPURS (probable): Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Davies; Lo Celso, Winks, Sissoko; Moura, Kane, Son.
