Obafemi equaliser frustrates United’s top-three hopes Spurs confirm death of Aurier’s brother

LFTOTTENHA­M are supporting defender Serge Aurier after it was confirmed his brother was killed in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Christophe­r Aurier, 26, was shot outside a nightclub in the southern French city of Toulouse.

Police were called by members of the public and the area is said to have been closed off for investigat­ion. The incident took place at about 5am on the Boulevard de Thibaud and he was pronounced dead in hospital.

Tottenham said in a statement: “The club are deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother passed away in the early hours of this morning.We are supporting Serge at this difficult time and we ask that the privacy of the player and his family is respected.

“Everybody at the club sends their sincerest condolence­s to Serge and his family.”
