Investing in our future
THE virus has been devastating for ordinary schoolchildren. Faced with a forced hiatus from education, and scant cover from schools, they have much catching up to do if they’re not to become a lost generation.
So we salute the Government’s announcement that it will give all state school pupils in England more funding in the form of a £2.2billion package next year, and will create 3,000 new school places for youngsters with special educational needs.
These children are the future, they have been dealt a blow from the pandemic, and it is only right to give them a leg-up as their lives begin to progress once again.
