Not everyone is forced to wear face masks in public
NOT many people seem to know that there are many exemptions from wearing masks (“Deaf people will struggle to manage at checkout”, Letters, July 17).
Anyone who has a physical or mental problem that means wearing a mask will cause them distress or difficulty is exempt.
This means breathing problems, deafness, autism, claustrophobia and more. You do not have to prove this. I have checked with my local bank, pharmacy and supermarket to make sure they know this.
