The way Archer has been vilified is just not cricket

SO England cricketer Jofra Archer detoured to his Brighton flat en route to Manchester from Southampton (“Bubble bursts”, July 17).

So what? Confined in his car and his flat, what is the problem? His girlfriend has been cleared of having the dreaded lurgy.

I think the England andWales Cricket Board’s reaction has been a bit over the top.

At least director of cricket Ashley Giles has said that Archer is a young man who made a mistake. It seems to me the only mistake he made was in telling a loose-lipped sneak who reported him.
