ARTETA FULL OF LOVE FOR LUIZ

MIKEL ARTETA praised David Luiz for his transformation from liability to leader.

The Brazil defender was outstanding as Arsenal upset the odds at Wembley.

Yet a month ago he was sent off less than 30 minutes into the Gunners’ 3-0 League defeat by City after being a substitute and giving away a goal.

Arsenal boss Arteta said: “I didn’t have any doubts about his reaction.

“He put his hand up after that game.

“We all make mistakes, but the way he’s been performing has been phenomenal.

”He’s won everything in different countries, he brings that with him.

“He doesn’t need a lot of management. He needs us to trust him.”

Arteta also believes winning the FA Cup would boost the club’s chances of keeping matchwinner PierreEmerick Aubameyang.

The manager said: “If we win it we’ll be in Europe and financially stronger.

“He seems convinced, but if he can see the direction we are taking, he’ll be more positive.”
